Apple (iOS, iPadOS, tvOS)
Odeion has a single universal Apple app that runs on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Your watch progress, playlists, and preferences sync across all of them.
While Odeion is in active development, the Apple apps are distributed through TestFlight, Apple’s official beta program. A public App Store release is planned once the app exits beta.
Joining the TestFlight beta
Section titled “Joining the TestFlight beta”TestFlight is free and only requires an Apple ID. You’ll need to install the TestFlight app once, then join the Odeion beta from any of your Apple devices.
- On your iPhone or iPad, install TestFlight from the App Store. (Skip this step on Apple TV. tvOS handles TestFlight builds automatically once you’re enrolled.)
- Open the Odeion TestFlight invite link on the device you want to install on:
testflight.apple.com/join/AdYVyn5d - Tap Accept, then Install. Odeion will appear on your home screen like any other app.
- To install on Apple TV, sign in to TestFlight on your Apple TV with the same Apple ID, then accept the invite from the Apple TV App Store → TestFlight section.
TestFlight builds expire every 90 days. You’ll get a notification before that happens. Open TestFlight and tap Update to install the latest build.
iPhone and iPad
Section titled “iPhone and iPad”The iOS app supports HLS playback via AVPlayer with quality selection, subtitle and audio track switching, skip intro/credits, next episode auto-play, Picture-in-Picture, background audio, downloads for offline playback, playlists, content requests, and Watch Together.
You can sign in by entering your server URL and credentials, or by using a device link code generated from a device where you’re already signed in.
Apple TV
Section titled “Apple TV”The tvOS app has the same browsing, search, and playback capabilities as iPhone and iPad, with a focus-based interface designed for the Siri Remote. Downloads, playlists, and Picture-in-Picture are not available on tvOS.
Device code linking is strongly recommended on Apple TV. Entering a server URL with the Siri Remote is tedious.
Reporting bugs
Section titled “Reporting bugs”The fastest way to report a bug is via the in-app bug reporter, which automatically attaches logs and device info. You can also email contact@odeion.app. See the support page for details.
